This morning during my Thankfulness walk, it was 63 degrees as birds were announcing the glorious day as the wind was blowing. My fish are up in the pond and my daffodils have grown a few inches. I smell rain in the air, even though we still have a few piles of snow that haven’t melted.
I have a list longer than my arm to complete today, but that will be later.
This time of treasure seeking and being thankful will set the tone for the day. Thanking him for the day ahead enables me to step away into his presence for refreshment, renewal and refilling.
I’m an empty cup, just like the cuppa I carry back home after my walk.
I’ve learned that far more gets accomplished well, as an empty cup, than to be full of myself or my ideas.
This morning is my neighbor’s birthday and I linger longer on the sidewalk to bless her day.
If my mind was full of “too much to do” I would not have remembered that it was her special day as I walked past her house.
My Heavenly Daddy is so faithful to bring those things to mind with perfect timing.
I know that he is thinking about one of his kids when he brings them to our mind to pray for them.
Isn’t that amazing?
“Entering his gates with Thanksgiving in your heart” changes you, how you look at your life, and teaches you how to count blessings.
